Iranian Vice President Rahimi withdraws presidential candidacy

TEHRAN,May 14(MNA) – First Vice President Mohammad Reza Rahimi, who had signed up for Iran’s 11th presidential election due on June 14, withdrew from the election on Monday, saying that he preferred to focus on his job as vice president. Former presidential media advisor Ali Akbar Javanfekr also withdrew his candidacy on Monday in favor of presidential advisor Esfandiar Rahim Mashaei.
