Iranian warship foils pirate attack on U.S. commercial ship

TEHRAN, May 26 (MNA) – The Iranian Navy has saved a U.S. commercial container from pirate attacks in the Sea of Oman, the navy said in a press release on Thursday. The U.S. ship called MAERSK TEXAS requested the help of the Iranian warship which was navigating in the region and the pirates fled as soon as they noticed the warship is approaching the ship. The U.S. crew thanked the Iranian navy for the timely response.
