Iran`s Aref criticizes high health care costs

TEHRAN,June 3(MNA)– Pro-reform presidential candidate Mohammad Reza Aref objected to the fact that citizens have to pay up to 70 percent of their health care costs from their own pockets, vowing to reduce it to 30 percent if elected president.
Speaking on a radio program on Sunday, Aref, who formerly served as first vice president under Mohammad Khatami, also criticized the high inflation rate in Iran.
“The issue of inflation has been solved in the world with 160 countries having single-digit inflation rate. But we are among a handful of countries that are suffering from two-digit inflation rate,” Aref said, adding that high inflation has psychological impacts on the society.
