Iran's Support For Palestinians To Continue: Jalili
Tehran, Nov 21, IRNA – Iran would continue its support for the Palestinians, Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) Saeed Jalil said here on Tuesday.
He made the remarks in a meeting with the Iraqi National Alliance President Ibrahim Al-Jafari.
'Gaza war is a big test for those who claimed to be defending Islamic Ummah and Palestinian resistance; foolish action of Israel in raiding Gaza have roots in its criminal nature.'
Jalili noted that Iran, Lebanese Hezbollah, Iraq and Bahrainian Shia population support of the Palestinians proved the failure of enemy divisive plots.
Former Iraqi prime minister for his part praised Iran's constructive role in making stability in the region and have practical support of the Palestinian ideals.
A large number of Iranian parliamentarians condemned the recent brutal attacks of the Zionist regime on Gaza and expressed sympathy with the Palestinian nation.
In a statement signed by 215 MPs on Sunday, the parliamentarians said that the Zionist regime started its military operations, particularly bombing of residential areas, in Gaza based on the wrong calculations that it would be able to crush the Islamic resistance trend there.
Iranian Parliament intends also to send a committee to visit Gaza, Deputy head of the Iranian Parliament National Security and Foreign Policy Commission, Mansour Haghighat-pour said here on Friday.
Rallies were held in London, New York City, Paris, Sydney, Beirut and Cairo against the ongoing assault by the Israel on the besieged Gaza Strip.
Protesters chanted anti-Israel slogans while waving Palestinian flags.
The angry protesters also asked the international community to take action to stop the Israeli aggression.
Protesters also called on President Mohammad Mursi to cut all ties with the Tel Aviv regime.
Assaults on Gaza started on Wednesday and the Israeli military launched a series of new air and sea attacks against the Palestinians in the coastal territory./end
