Iran`s Tariqat-Monfared nominated to take over Health Ministry

TEHRAN,March 10(MNA) – In a letter to Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani released on Saturday, President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad nominated Mohammad Hassan Tariqat-Monfared to be the new health minister. Tariqat-Monfared must gain the parliamentarians’ vote of approval to be confirmed. If approved, he will replace Marzieh Vahid Dastjerdi, who was dismissed in December 2012 shortly after she publicly criticized the government’s response to the shortage of medicine imports and said that not enough foreign currency had been allocated for the import of medicine.
