Iran`s Velayati vows to resolve nuclear, sanctions issues

TEHRAN,June 11(MNA) –Candidate Ali Akbar Velayati vowed to resolve the nuclear dispute with the West and help lift the sanctions on Iran should he be elected president in this month’s election. The former foreign minister also emphasized that the country should adopt the policy of “prudent resistance,” which he interpreted as an expansion of relations with other countries while adhering to the values and principles of the Islamic system. He added that although the sanctions have contributed to the current economic problems, efforts should be made to find a way to end the sanctions and still continue the nuclear program.
