Iraqi Foreign Affairs Minister leaves Lebanon after official visit

NNA - Iraqi Foreign Affairs Minister, Ibrahim al-Jaafari, on Sunday left Rafic Hariri International Airport with his accompanying delegation. Minister al-Jaafari evoked his three meetings with President of the Republic Michel Aoun, Prime Minister Saad Hariri, and House Speaker Nabih Berri. Al-Jaafari said that his visit aimed at congratulating the Lebanese people for the election of President Aoun and extending to the latter an invitation to visit Iraq. He also revealed that he had discussed with the President his future visit to Egypt in addition to other common issues between Lebanon and Iraq. He indicated that he explained to Lebanese officials the achievements of Iraqi military forces against terrorism, noting that the secret of said victories resided in the unity between Iraqi army, police, Peshmerga and People's Mobilization Forces. The diplomat also confirmed that fighting terrorism would be a top priority during the Arab Summit.
