IRGC chief plays down threats of military attack against Iran

TEHRAN, Sept. 16 (MNA) – The commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps on Sunday played down threats of military attacks against Iran by Israel and the United States for its nuclear program, saying these threats are more of a “soft” kind intended to achieve political objectives. Mohammad Ali Jafari expressed hope that threats against Iran would not be of military kind otherwise the IRGC along with other forces would respond to them strongly. “Today’s threats against the revolution and the system are more of a soft kind and ‘half-hard’ and we hope that the threats would not be hard and physical, (and) if they were (real) Sepah along with other forces were ready to counter them,” Jafari told reporters in a press conference.
