Islamic Awakening leaders should promote unity to thwart plots: Iran`s Velayati

TEHRAN,July 10(MNA) – A senior advisor to Iran’s Supreme Leader said on Monday that given the fact that numerous and complex conspiracies are being devised against Muslim nations, the leaders of the Islamic Awakening movement should promote unity and cooperation. Ali Akbar Velayati, who is the director of the Permanent Secretariat of the World Assembly of the Islamic Awakening, said that the movement of Muslim nations in the region has garnered the world’s attention and greatly affected the global developments. He added that the impressive victory of the Islamic movements in the elections recently held in Morocco, Egypt, and Tunisia is indicative of the fact that regional nations have an inclination toward Islam. “The fact definitely does not please the enemies of the Islamic Ummah, and therefore, we are witnessing that the conspiracies against regional nations and Islamic movements have increased and become more complicated,” Velayati stated. He went on to say that the challenges facing regional nations are such serious that leave the leaders of the Islamic Awakening with no option but to promote cooperation and unity. Reliance on God and the support of the Muslim nations and the Islamic Awakening movements can guarantee the success of Muslims to go through the critical phase of the history of Islam, Velayati noted. World Conference on Women and the Islamic Awakening is scheduled to be held in Tehran from Tuesday to Wednesday. Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad will also deliver a speech at the conference.
