IUISA Asks Germany To Pursue Attack On Iran Embassy In Berlin

Berlin, Dec 6, IRNA – Islamic Union of Iranian Students' Association (IUISA) asked Germany to pursue case of attack on IRI Embassy in a statement released here Wednesday. 'The enmities against the Islamic Republic, including the attack on Iran's embassy in Berlin, are because of its anti-arrogance and independent seeking nature.' Condemning the attack, the statement noted that Iran's scientific achievements and its undeniable influence over regional and international developments have always faced full-scale enmity of oppressive powers. 'Arrogant powers have always used all pressure tools, including the eight-year Iraqi imposed war against Iran, terror of elite and common people, economic sanctions, propaganda, cultural invasion, as well as illegal pressures by the so-called international institutions to pressure Tehran.' IUISA added in the statement that desperate attacking of Iran's Embassy in Berlin by Monafeghin (MKO terrorist group) members is because of their weak position and disappointment. The statement asked the German administration to pursue those behind the attack. Iran's embassy became the target of a well-coordinated and organized attack by MKO elements and pro-Zionist regime thugs on last Wednesday afternoon. According to the Iranian Ambassador to Berlin Ali-Reza Sheikh-Attar, the police did not respond in time to their emergency call. He stressed also that Berlin authorities had ignored warnings by the Iranian embassy that such an assault was imminent. Meanwhile, Berlin police has acknowledged that it failed to respond adequately to the warnings. Deeply embarrassed by the storming of the Iranian diplomatic mission, the German Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle wrote to Berlin Mayor Klaus Wowereit demanding better protection for embassies. During past two years, there have been 13 cases of embassy buildings being attacked or occupied in the German capital, a figure the government sees as unacceptable./end
