Jahangiri Departs For Bolivia To Attend Group-77 Summit
Tehran, June 14, IRNA – Iran's First Vice-President Eshaq Jahangiri left Tehran for Bolivia on Friday morning to attend the Group-77 Summit in the Latin American Country.
Jahangiri is slated to attend and deliver speech at the 50th anniversary of the establishment of the Group-77 in the Bolivian capital of Santa Cruz.
Jahangiri during his stay in Bolivia will also meet with Bolivian President Evo Morales to discuss the most important bilateral issues.
He will also meet with the president of the United Nations General Assembly and senior Bolivian officials during his stay in Bolivia.
Jahangiriˈs visit to Bolivia is the first visit by a high-ranking Iranian official to the Latin American countries since President Hassan Rouhani took office last year.
The Group of 77 at the UN is a coalition of developing nations, designed to promote economic interactions among the member states, and create an enhanced joint negotiating capacity in the United Nations.
Late in January 2011, the rotating presidency of the Group of 77 was officially handed to Iran for the first time since the victory of the Islamic Revolution./end
