Jalili: Foreigners Resort To Different Ploys To Disunite Regional Nations

Tehran, July 3, IRNA - - Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council Saeed Jalili on Monday said foreigners resort to all sorts of ploys to precent unity and convergence of regional states. He made the remarks in a meeting with the Leader of the Iraqi Kurdistan Change Movement (Gorran) Nawshirwan Mustafa Amin in Tehran. Pointing to growing ties between Tehran and Baghdad, Jalili said Iran-Iraq strategic cooperation would lead to stability and flourishing of the region. Outlining foreigners’ plots to stop the convergence and solidarity among regional states, he said the development and stability of the Persian Gulf region is tied to refraining from artificial confrontations triggered by aliens between Kurds and Arabs or Shi’as and Sunnis. Mostafa Amin said Kurdish people and officials see their their interests intertwined with their living in a single and unified Iraq. He underlined the need for further cooperation between Iran and Iraq as two important countries of the region./end
