Japanese PM’s participation in SPIEF confirmed, Lavrov says

TOKYO, March 21. /TASS/. Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe is due to take part in the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov told reporters after talks with his Japanese counterpart Taro Kono. "Prime Minister Abe will take part as an honorary guest in the St. Petersburg forum in May, and also attend an opening ceremony for the cross-years of culture between Russia and Japan together with President [Vladimir Putin]," Lavrov said. "We agreed to make every effort so that the outcome of the upcoming summit would encourage deepening cooperation in all areas," Lavrov noted. The St. Petersburg International Economic Forum will be held on May 24-26. The opening ceremony for the cross-years of culture between Russia and Japan will take place on May 26 in Moscow’s Bolshoi Theater. Read more
