Justice minister: there is a rooted friendship between Turkey and Iran

TEHRAN (A.A) – March 7, 2012 – Turkish Justice Minister Sadullah Ergin said that there was a very rooted friendship between Turkey and Iran. Holding a joint press conference with Iranian Justice Minister Morteza Bakhtiari in Tehran on Wednesday, Ergin said that Turkey and Iran had signed a Legal Cooperation Agreement in February 2010, adding that today the two countries would sign a memorandum of understanding to make the agreement more functional. The Legal Cooperation Agreement covers civil and commercial laws, extradition of criminals and transfer of prisoners, said Ergin, adding that they would set up a joint executive committee under the memorandum of understanding. Iranian minister said that economic, cultural and political relations between Turkey and Iran increased in recent years, adding that now the two countries would sign a memorandum of understanding on legal area. He added that Legal Cooperation Agreement was approved by Iranian officials and took effect.
