Khakban named coach of Iran youth water polo team

TEHRAN,Apr.21(MNA) – Danial Khakban was named as Iran youth water polo coach on Sunday. He will lead the Iranian team in the 2nd FINA World Men's Youth Water Polo Championships (18 & U), which will take place from August 2 to 10, in Istanbul, Turkey. Iran was drawn in Group B of the FINA World Men's Youth Water Polo Championships along with Montenegro, Australia, Japan, and Argentina. Group A consists of Spain, Kazakhstan, Hungary, the U.S, and Africa 1. Brazil, Italy, Turkey (HOST), Russia and Africa 2 have been drawn in Group C. Serbia has been pitted against New Zealand, Peru, Canada and Croatia in Group D. In the first edition, which was held in Perth, Australia in 2011, Italy beat Hungary 10-8 in the final and claimed the title.
