Kiev invites UN to participate in illegal actions in southeast of Ukraine - Lavrov

BEIJING, April 15 (Itar-Tass) - Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov believes that Kiev’s intention to invite the United Nations Organisation to participate in unlawful actions of new Ukrainian authorities in the southeast of the country is totally unacceptable. He made this statement on Tuesday after talks with his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi. “The Ukrainian side invites the UN to participate in unlawful actions, spins stories in order to justify its aggressive designs,” at the same time accusing Russia of organising and implementing all this. “I have not heard bigger nonsense. This means (that the Ukrainian authorities) deny their own people the right to express their views and protest against lawlessness,” the minister said. Lavrov also urged not to believe the statements that Russia was allegedly trying to disrupt the four-sided meeting in Geneva on Ukraine. “These statements are not consistent with the reality,” the RF foreign minister said.
