Kurds supported demonstrations in Syria, says a leader in Kurdish movement

ANKARA (A.A) – November 4, 2011 - One of leaders of Kurdish Youth Movement in Syria has said that Kurdish people also participated in demonstrations in Syria. Speaking to AA correspondent, Yilmaz Said, one of leaders of Kurdish Youth Movement, said that they lost hundreds in demonstrations which have been continuing in Syria for eight months. Said said that Assad regime oppressed the opposition politically, mentally, economically and socially since it seized the political power. Many Kurdish leaders were killed in protests in Syria, he said. Messal Temmo and Selman Ekko were murdered by Syrian regime, he said. Said said Syrian President Bashar al-Assad was trying to spoil the balance in the region. In regard to PKK-Syria link, Said said that there had been relationship based on interests between Syria and PKK, and later Syria arrested several leaders of PKK. "Now Assad regime has been passing through tough days and want to benefit from everyone," he said. Dialogue was the only way for solution of issues between Turks and Kurds, he said. Violence could not solve anything, Said added.
