Kuwait calls relations with Iran exceptional

TEHRAN,June 22(MNA) – Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Sheikh Sabah al-Khaled al-Sabah hailed relations with Tehran as “exceptional”.
During a meeting with Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab and African Affairs Hossein Amir Abdollahian in Kuwait city, the top Kuwaiti diplomat also proposed ways to strengthen bilateral relations.
The Kuwaiti foreign minister also discussed a number of regional issues with Amir-Abdollahian.
Amir Abdollahian, heading a high-ranking delegation, was visiting Kuwait as the second leg of a three-nation Persian Gulf tour after visiting the United Arab Emirates on Wednesday.
The Kuwaiti official congratulated the Iranian nation for their massive participation in the recent presidential election and emphasized that Iran is playing a key role in the region.
The Iranian diplomat, for his part, denounced any military and security solution to the crises in Syria and Bahrain, reiterating that problems in the Arab states should be resolved through dialogue.
Amir-Abdollahian also called for international and regional efforts to help end the violence in Syria, emphasizing that the Syrian people should decide about their future by themselves.
Iran calls on religious, political figures to encourage moderation
On Thursday, Amir-Abdollahian held a meeting with Omani Minister Responsible for Foreign Affairs Yousef bin Alawi bin Abdullah in Muscat, during which the two discussed bilateral and regional issues.
During the meeting, Amir-Abdollahian called on political and religious leaders of the Islamic countries to encourage moderation in the region and help prevent extremism which can cause sectarian conflict among Muslims.
The Omani official emphasized that the only solution to the Syrian crisis is to halt violence and hold dialogue between conflicting sides.
