Kyrgyzstan takes part in V meeting of Transport Ministers of Turkic Council

Bishkek, Oct. 15, 2021 / Kabar /. Minister of Transport and Communications of the Kyrgyz Republic Erkinbek Osoev is taking part in the V meeting of the Ministers of Transport of the Cooperation Council of Turkic-speaking States (Turkic Council), which is being held in the city of Budapest (Hungary). According to the press service of the Ministry of Transport, Baghdad Amreyev, Secretary General of the Turkic Council and heads of transport departments of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Turkey, Uzbekistan and Hungary are also taking part in the meeting. During the meeting, important issues of mutual cooperation were discussed: assistance of countries to each other with quotas (permits), transit passes, driver's visas, provision of necessary additional (bilateral / transit) permits and withdrawal of payments for transit trips, based on reciprocity. They also discussed the adoption of a harmonious tariff policy and the removal of administrative barriers to reduce the time of transportation of goods, the development of contactless foreign trade and multimodal transport corridors between the parties, the report said. In addition, the ministry indicated that the event raised the issue of finalizing the Agreement on International Combined Freight Transport between the member states of the Cooperation Council of Turkic-speaking States. It should be noted that the discussed issues and the stated position of the Kyrgyz Republic on a number of issues in the transport sector is the preparatory work of the Ministry of Transport and Communications of the Kyrgyz Republic for the upcoming meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Cooperation Council of Turkic-speaking States, which will be held in Istanbul, Turkey in November 2021, the press service said.
