Labor Minister reveals international community adamant about settling Syrian refugees in Lebanon

NNA - Caretaker Minister of Labor, Sejaan Azzi, revealed on Friday that the international community was determined to settling over one million displaced Syrians as refugees in Lebanon.
"The recent visits to Lebanon by international [officials] only confirmed the international community's determination to settle the Syrian displaced; this is what drove the President of the republic and the Foreign Minister to take their national stance against that headway," Azzi told a news conference at his office.
Accordingly, he suggested establishing residential areas inside Syria to host the displaced and secure a safe return for them. "War is not taking place on the entire Syrian territory."
"The international community and organizations, as well as influential states, must provide protection to those areas."
"Unfortunately, the entire international community and all visitors to Lebanon did propose that Syrians stay in Lebanon until the war ends and a settlement takes place next door," he revealed.
"Lebanon cannot bear more than 1.7 million Syrians," he reminded.
