Larijani: Late Imam Recommended Expansion Of Ties With Africa

Khartoum, Jan 23, IRNA – Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani said that Muslims are brothers and united, adding that color and race are not important for them and late Imam Khomeini recommended expansion of Iranˈs ties with African countries. Larijani in a meeting with Nigeria parliament speaker, on the sidelines of the 8th inter-parliamentary meeting of Islamic States here on Tuesday, said that the meeting is a good opportunity for exchanging views between officials of member states. Referring to a number of terrorist attacks in Nigeria, he expressed sorrow that the issue of terrorism has turned into a problem in the world. The Nigerian parliament speaker, for his part, said that Nigeria and Mali are occupied by terrorists and drug smugglers and this problem will hurt other countries, too. He expressed concern that terrorist attacks in his country were not condemned by other states. The Nigerian MP continued that if Islamic Ummah could have supported Mali, there would have been no need for French military presence there./end
