L.Bold FM elected as board member of International Lifeline Fund

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The Mongolia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs L.Bold has been elected as a member of the International Lifeline Fund’s (ILF) board.
A decision on it was made at the ILF's meeting of member states and organizations ran Tuesday in New York City. At this meeting, the ILF also joined Latvia and New Zealand as its new members.
The board includes political figures such as Nassiru Bako Arifari, the Foreign Minister of Benin; and William Burns, a Deputy Secretary of State of the USA; and other diplomats and civil society figures.
During the meeting, Mr Bold pointed out that Mongolia has focused a great attention to supporting and strengthening civil society within its term of chairing the Community of Democracies (CoD) and has made an initiative on setting up the Asian Democratic Network for Civil Society. He highlighted an importance of action support for the civil society.
Following the meeting, the Foreign Minister held meetings with Mr Bill Burns; and Ms Uzra Zeya, Acting Assistant Secretary and Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary. They participated in the CoD Ministerial Conference held last April Ulaanbaatar, and expressed their satisfaction with a good organization of the conference.
