Lebanese caretaker FM calls for electoral law based on proportionality

Caretaker Foreign Minister, Gibran Bassil, spoke during an event by Bank of Beirut in Batroun, calling for an electoral law that offers fair and proportional representation to all Lebanese. Bank of Beirut lit up a Christmas tree in Batroun. "Today we have begun a correctional path in Lebanon and we started from the tip of the pyramid with the presidential post," said Bassil. The Minister noted that reform was a long and arduous road that could only be completed by a new electoral law based on proportional representation. "It is high time to achieve a qualitative electoral law that allows every Lebanese to feel that his/her voice has value."
