Lord Mayor of London to visit us

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Lord Mayor of London Michael Roger Gifford will pay a visit to Mongolia on September 19-20 of 2013. The main purpose of this visit is to strengthen the ties between Mongolia and the United Kingdom (UK). This is the second time for a Lord Mayor of London to visit Mongolia, and this visit is coincided with the 50th anniversary of the Mongolia-UK diplomatic relations. Within the forthcoming visit, the Lord Mayor will meet with politicians and businessmen in Ulaanbaatar to discuss a possible capability of London and the British businessmen for supporting the economic growth of Mongolia. "There is huge potential for partnership between Mongolia and the UK in all sectors. With Mongolia’s GDP per capita expected to more than quadruple by 2020, it will need the support of high quality financial services to underpin the growth of the wider economy, which is support London can provide. As a world leading financial center, London can support this development through its unique concentration of international expertise and regulatory structures, advanced communications and IT infrastructure. Utilizing this cluster of knowledge and experience can help to accelerate Mongolia’s own financial sector," Mr Gifford says. "I want Mongolia to see London and the UK as partners of choice," he adds.
