Luxemburg FM: Iran Election Sends Key Message To Region, World

New York, June 18, IRNA – Luxembourgˈs Foreign Affairs Minister Jean Asselborn said the Islamic Republic of Iranˈs presidential elections sent an important message to the region and the world. In an exclusive interview with IRNA, Asselborn stressed that the June 14 election would have a positive impact on expansion of cooperation between Iran and the European Union. He called on Iran to enhance its cooperation with international community and attend Geneva-2 conference on Syria crisis. He also described the remarks made by president-elect Hassan Rohani during his first press conference held Monday on Iranˈs peaceful nuclear program and settlement of the ongoing crisis in Syria as ˈpositiveˈ. ˈWe are ready to lift all sanctions imposed on Iran immediately, if Tehran makes further cooperation with International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and takes positive steps to that endˈ, Asselborn stated./end
