MINING AND HEAVY INDUSTRY MINISTER MEETS AUSTRALIAN AMBASSADOR

Ulaanbaatar/MONTSAME/ On January 9, D.Sumiyabazar, Minister of Mining and Heavy Industry, met with John Langtry, Ambassador of Australia to Mongolia. During the meeting, the Minister emphasized that bilateral cooperation is expanding in the fields of mining, investment, education and technical assistance. Moreover, he expressed an interest to learn from Australian experience of its successful mining development and introduce it in Mongolia. They also exchanged views on defining further actions to be implemented within the Australia-Mongolia Extractives Program, and on opportunities to cooperate in developing geological sector collaborating with the Geoscience Australia and the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Australia. The Ambassador expressed Australia’s willingness to contribute to development of Mongolian mining and educational sectors and expand bilateral cooperation in future. In addition, they also shared views on taxation, investment and legal environment in Mongolia. M.Unurzul
