Mining minister meets Canadian counterpart
Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ In frames of the official visit to Canada until March 6, the Minister of Mining D.Gankhuyag Monday met with his counterpart Mr Joe Oliver.
The Minister of Natural resources Mr Oliver highly spoke a stabilized legal environment of investments in Mongolia and underlined a many-year cooperation between Canada and Mongolia in the mining sphere.
He said more, Canada is ready to give support our country in preparing human resources and retraining our workers of the mining sector.
In turn, Mr Gankhuyag noted that the Canadian geologists were the first to arrived in our country after the 1990 Democratic Revolution, and that some 40 Canadian mining companies are operating now in Mongolia. "Mongolia has the lowest tax among Asian countries," he added.
During his visit, the Minister Gankhuyag will hold a meeting with Mr Ed Fast, the Minister of International Trade, take part in the “Prospectors & Developers Association of Canada /PDAC/-2014”, the world's leading convention running March 2-5 in Toronto.
