Minister of Food and Agriculture meets US Ambassador

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The Minister of Food and Agriculture R.Burmaa received the Ambassador of the USA to Mongolia Ms Piper Campbell on February 4. The Minister conveyed her gratitude to the U.S. government for including Mongolia in the Second Millennium Challenge Account program "in high recognition of Mongolia's efforts for promoting good governance and sustainable economic development". She thanked the U.S. side for providing the rural development and economy through the Millennium Challenge account and Program for Food security and Development. Ms Burmaa also noted that "our farmers started to participate in the Agricultural Exhibitions which held every year in the USA". Then the sides agreed to widen a program on Capacity Building for Fight against the Diseases of Mongolian Livestock and to sell XacBank's stocks purchased from the revenue of the US assistance program for Food Security and Development. The Minister said Mongolia has a lot to learn from the U.S. practice, technologies and Know-how in agriculture and promised to give more significance to the two countries' cooperation in this sphere.
