Minister Zorigt receives ADB manager

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The Minister of Energy D.Zorigt received Tuesday a delegation led by Mr Ayumi Konishi, a Director-General of South Asian Department of the Asia Development Bank (ADB). Mongolia and the ADB have been cooperating in many energy projects on legal environment, power distribution services, renewable energy and capacity building, the ADB allocated easy-term loans and non-refundable aids for 18 projects since the commencement of the cooperation in 1993, mentioned the Minister. A master plan of the energy sector of Mongolia and the feasibility study for the Fifth Thermal Station were developed under the consulting with the ADB, the latter is also promoting the technological works conducted at the Third and Fourth Thermal Stations, as well at other thermal power companies of Ulaanbaatar, he went on and stressed that his Ministry is interested in taking long and short term credits with eased conditions for financing some mega and medium-size projects of the energy sector. He is confident that the ADB will support Mongolia this year in the organization of the CAREC Summit. he said. In response, Mr Konishi mentioned that accompanying him a delegation "consists of two--the experts who develop country programs, and who represent Central Asian Regional Economic Cooperation (CAREC)", and promised to support Mongolia by all means in the projects and in organization of CAREC Summit.
