MNA signs MOU with Zimbabwean news agency

TEHRAN, Sept. 3 (MNA) – The Mehr News Agency and the Zimbabwean official news agency New ZIANA signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). MNA Director General Reza Moghadasi and New ZIENA Director General (Editor-in-Chief) Rangarirai Shoko inked the document aimed at expanding socio-cultural ties between the two friendly countries of Iran and Zimbabwe. Under the MOU, the two sides will exchange news and photos and distribute them among their country’s mass media including newspapers, TV, and radio. Established in 2000, New ZIANA (Zimbabwe Inter-Africa News Agency) releases news and photos in English and two other African languages. Headquartered in Harare, it publishes ten weeklies such as Telegraph, The Times, and Star. Affiliated with the Zimbabwean Ministry of Information & Publicity, it is the only news agency active in the country.
