TEHRAN,Feb.27(MNA) – The Iranian parliament has given a vote of confidence to Mohamamd Hassan Nami as the minister of communications and information technology.
Of the 243 votes cast, 177 MPs voted in favor of Nami during an open session on Tuesday.
President Mahoumd Ahmadinejad had appointed Nami as the caretaker minister of the communications on February 2.

At the beginning of the session, Ahmadinejad delivered a speech defending his nominated minister, saying that Nami is an expert in communications and cyberspace fields.
Two MPs spoke against the nominated minister and criticized Ahmadinejad for nominating a person with an academic degree irrelevant with the duties as a communications minister, as Nami holds a degree in geopolitics.
One MP also spoke in favor of Nami and said that the parliament should cooperate with the administration so that it can go through the remainder of its career of four months with the least tension.
Nami also delivered a speech and elaborated on his programs as a minister and said that his dominance over fields such as electronic warfare, cyber defense and wireless communications indicate the relevance of his expertise with the duties of the ministry.
