Mongolia to cooperate with Japan in military medical services
Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ State Secretary of the Defense Ministry Z.Boldbaatar Tuesday met with Japanese Administrative Vice-Minister of Defense Mr Masanori Nishi.
At their official negotiations, the sides shared views on global and regional security issues, bilateral relations, military cooperation and its prospects.
The parties expressed a satisfaction in the strengthening defense cooperation between Mongolia and Japan, and agreed to cooperate further in military engineering and medical services. The military representatives of both countries also settled to advance their peacekeeping cooperation that aims to promote involving of the Tavan Tolgoi military training center into the regional peace support training network, participation of the Japanese Self Defense Force militants in Mongolia’s annual "Khaan Quest" military peacekeeping exercises, and exchanges between the Defense Universities of both countries.
The same day, Mr Boldbaatar held a meeting with the highest officials of the Joint Staff Council of Japan Self-Defense Forces to exchange opinions on the current state and prospects of Mongolia-Japan defense cooperation.
During the visit, the Mongolian delegation, led by Major General Boldbaatar, visited the Central Hospital of Japanese Self-Defence Force and the Joint Staff College. After that, Mr Boldbaatar delivered a lecture on defense policies of Mongolia at the National Institute for Defense Studies of Japan.
