Mongolia to export meat to China
Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Mongolian meat processing enterprises have been allowed to export meat products to the Chinese market, reported the Ministry of Food and Agriculture on Friday. An official permission was allowed on April 13 by the Chinese Administration for Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine (AQSIQ).
Our country, aimed at increasing its agricultural production for exports, held series of talks with the Chinese side to agree on the quarantine terms. As a result, they reached an agreement in 2011 on the terms of the exports of heat-treated beef, mutton, horse meat and frozen dumplings and buuz. The Chinese specialists from the Certification and Accreditation Office of the AQSIQ ran a monitoring and evaluation researches at our meat producing companies.
According to the permissions issued, the export licenses for heat-treated beef, mutton and 20 types of meat products have been allowed for “Makh Market” and “Mongol Eco Makh” companies, licenses for slaughtering activities along with exports of heat-treated beef and mutton have been given to “Makh Market”, “Mongol Eco Makh”, “Darkhan Meat Food” and “Green Graceland” companies, and for supplying horse meat has been allowed for “Khaan Khuns”, “Mongol Eco Makh” and “Darkhan Meat Food” companies.
The Chinese national committee on renovation and development noted in its report an annual increase in China's consumption of meat products: mutton consumption per capita in 2010 was 3.01 kg, in 2015 it increased to 3.23 kg; a volume of imports of mutton in 2011 stood at 82.7 thousand tons, in 2013 it went up to 123, 7 thousand tons, and in 2013 it climbed up to 254 thous.tons.
