Mongolia is to host first meeting of Women Parliamentarians of Northeast Asia

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Initiated by Mongolia's women parliamentarians, a first ever meeting of the women MPs of Northeast Asian countries will run the UB city. The event themed "Role of women parliamentarians in advancing peace and prosperity through education" will take place November 24-25. The gathered are supposed to discuss many issues, for example, ways of realization of ¹18 UN resolution on education for Democracy approved by UN General Assembly in 2012, and of resuming a process of the fifth World Conference on Women, which ran last in 1995 in Beijing and is expected in 2015. A participation is expected of women MPs from Russia, China, North Korea, South Korea, Japan, the UN and its specialized organizations and agencies, also from Asia Foundation and international institutions that work on human rights.
