MONGOLIA-USA CONSULTATIVE MEETING OF ECONOMIC POLICY RUNS

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ A consultative meeting between the governments of Mongolia and the USA on economic policy took place on Tuesday in Ulaanbaatar. This meeting was held for the first time in frames of a regular meeting of Mongolia-USA Joint Council for Talks on mutually supporting trade and investment. It was co-chaired by N.Oyundari, the Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia, and by Mr Kurt Tong, Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary for the Bureau of Economic and Business Affairs at the Department of State. The sides exchanged information and views on a present situation of Mongolia’s macro economy, its tendencies, chances for boosting the bilateral cooperation within the APEC, the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP), the Second Compact of the Millennium Challenge Account, also infrastructure, energy, environment, sciences, technology and health. Ending the meeting, the parties agreed to meet every year. The next action will run in 2016 in Washington DC.
