Mongolian and German presidents hold official talks

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ After the individual meeting, President of Mongolia Ts.Elbegdorj and President of the Federal Republic of Germany Joachim Gauk held official talks on October 15. Our president expressed his heartfelt gratitude to Mr Gauk for paying a state visit to Mongolia, and highlighted that Germany is the main partner of Mongolia in Europe. Mentioning that the visit coincides with the 25th anniversary of Mongolia’s first democratic election, he noted the visit should serve in deepening of our bilateral relations and enabling friendly atmosphere in the diplomatic ties. In response, president J.Gauk said he was grateful to be paying a visit here and for the ever-improving relations of the two countries. “We appreciate Mongolia’s consistent striving for democracy” he said and expressed confidence in the further deepening of bilateral cooperation. The sides underlined that the bilateral relations of Mongolia and Germany have been intensifying on the basis of cultural, education and economic ties, as well as the people-to-people exchange. Present were, Mongolia Minister of Foreign Affairs L.Purevsuren, Ambassador of Mongolia to Germany Ts.Bolor, D.Erdenebat MP, Chief of Staff of the President’s Office P.Tsagaan, Vice Minister of Finance S.Purev, Head of the Office of the Federal President of Germany State Secretary David Gill, State Secretary at the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy Matthias Machnig, Ambassador of Germany to Mongolia Gerhard Thiedemann along with other associated officials.
