Mongolia's position on International Law Commission at UNGA
Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ A Permanent Representative of Mongolia to UN O.Och Wednesday took the floor to express the Mongolian Government's position towards an International Law Commission /ILC/.
It was done at a meeting of the sixth Committee during the UN General Assembly in New York.
Mr Och said Mongolia appreciates the work done by the ILC to promote the progressive development of international law and its codification as stated in the rule of the United Nations, and highlighted big achievements of the Commission in a range of complex legal issues to deal with in the modern world.
He also commended a research work on the "Subsequent agreements and subsequent practice in relation to the interpretation of treaties" and said Mongolia believes that the draft articles with further study on specific points should contribute to the application of the relevant provisions of the Vienna Convention on the Law of Treaties providing a useful guide to treaty interpretation.
He stressed, "Mongolia thanks the Commission for submitting the draft articles on the Immunity of state officials from foreign criminal jurisdiction and supports inclusion of the new topic 'Crime against humanity' to the Commission's long-term program of work,", and added that the Government of Mongolia is ready to boost collaboration with the Commission, specially with the topics related to Mongolia and to active cooperation with members states for development of the international law.
