MP Kanaan says cabinet progress is obvious

NNA - "Change and Reform" Secretary, MP Ibrahim Kanaan, said on Monday "there is a clear progress regarding the cabinet formation". He added that Prime Minister-designate, Saad Hariri, will brief the factions on the cabinet formation when contacts are over. "No doubt that the latest contacts pushed matters forward," the MP told the "Voice of Lebanon" radio. Asked about an expected visit to Deputy Sleiman Franjieh to Baabda Palace, he said "I have no idea about this issue". On the other hand, he said "The starting point for the bloc concerning the electoral law will be the Orthodox proposal submitted by us, and the proportionality law which was approved in Bkirki". "We are open to any law that provides parity and convergence between the blocs," he concluded.
