NAM can deal with sanctions, pressure of hegemons: Supreme Leader

TEHRAN,Sept.2(MNA) – Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei said on Saturday that the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) is able to deal with sanctions and pressure by tyrannical powers on independent countries. The Leader made the remarks in a meeting with Guinea-Bissau’s President Sheriff Namajo who came to Iran to participate in the Non-Aligned Movement summit. “If the member countries of the movement plan for wide-ranging cooperation within the framework of the Non-Aligned Movement, efforts being made by tyrannical powers to impose sanctions and exert pressure on independent countries will be neutralized,” he stated. “The hegemonistic powers are trying to give the impression that any resistance against them is impossible, but the member countries of the Non-Aligned Movement are able to prove that this impression is wrong,” he added. Namajo also said that Guinea-Bissau is eager to expand its relations with the Islamic Republic.
