New Labor Minister Wins Majority Of Majlis Votes

Tehran, May 5, IRNA – Majority of the Iranian Parliament (Majlis) members voted in favor of the new Minister of Cooperatives, Labor and Social Welfare Asadollah Abbasi Sunday morning. Out of the total 252 votes cast, 200 MPs voted in favor and 40 against Abbasi while 12 votes were abstention. Abbasi was introduced to Majlis by President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad on April 24. Earlier on Sunday, President Ahmadinejad attended Majlis session to defend his nominee for the post./end
