No irregularity clues on Thailand's election day
BANGKOK, March 21 (TNA) - The Royal Thai Police says that there have been no irregularity clues on Thailand's new general election day on March 24.
Deputy National Police Chief Police General Srivara Ransibrahmanakul told journalists on March 20 that the Royal Thai Police has not received any intelligence alert on the possibility of untoward incidents.
"I confirm that there have been no intelligence reports on any irregularity plot on the national poll day on this coming Sunday", stressed the deputy national police chief.
The deputy national police chief stated, however, that he has instructed all concerned police units to closely watch out and timely take action against all criminal cases, including those on vote buyings, the slander of rival politicians and false reports to police.
According to the deputy national police chief, he has also ordered an increase in police forces on duty in sensitive areas of southern Thai region, including those in Yala, Narathiwat, Pattani, Satun and Phattalung Provinces. (TNA)
