Number of Syrians entered Turkey surpasses 16,000

HATAY (A.A) - March 19, 2012 - The number of Syrians who have entered Turkey after fleeing violence in Syria has surpassed 16,000. Diplomatic sources told the Anadolu Agency (AA) that on Sunday around 250 Syrians entered Turkey. Following a general health check-up and registration, the Syrians settled down in tent cities in the southern province of Hatay. Those Syrians who were injured in clashes in Syria are receiving medical treatment in hospitals in Hatay. There are around 25 Syrians who were injured in their country and are now being treated in Turkey. There are a total of 16,150 Syrians who have escaped from violence in Syria and took shelter in Turkey.
