Official asks France to keep off election process in Iran

TEHRAN,May 27(MNA)-- Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Seyyed Abbas Araqchi rejected claims by French authorities about the process of presidential election in Iran. Araqchi’s comments came after French Foreign Ministry spokesman Philippe Lalliot had questioned the transparency of the vetting process of would-be candidates by the Guardian Council. Araqchi advised French officials to address their own domestic problems instead of interfering in the internal affairs of other countries. “Elections in Iran are free and transparent and based on the country’s laws and regulations,” he added.
