Official Unaware Of Saudi Invitation To President Rohani

Tehran, Sept 17, IRNA – Head of President’s Inspection Office, Hossein Fereydoun, said on Monday that he had not heard about Saudi King Abdullahs invitation to President Hassan Rohani to pay pilgrimage to holy shrines. Speculation about the Saudi invitation mounted after Saudi King Abdullah posted an invitation to President Rohani on his Facebook. Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said that the invitation must be forwarded to Foreign Ministry. Speaking to reporters, Fereydoun commented on New York visit of President Rohani and said that during the UN General Assembly, the President would have meetings with specific presidents, and he will address the Conference on Disarmament. He said the President will deliver speech to United Nations General Assembly on September 24, focusing on Iranian foreign policy. Iran has undertaken leadership of Non-Aligned Movement, the major world body after the United Nations, and the President will address the UN Conference on Disarmament on September 26, he said./end
