Over 0.4 million lost lives in Iran in 10 yrs due to accidents

TEHRAN, Aug. 10 (MNA) - In the past ten years, over 438,000 Iranians have died from “unnatural deaths” such as electric shocks, gas poisoning, and drug intoxication. The Mehr News Agency learned that based on statistics from 2001 to 2010, 438,729 people lost lives due to accidents of some sort. Unnatural deaths include drowning, suicide, burns, homicide, drug poisoning, substance poisoning, car accidents and gas poisoning. While deaths due to drug and substance poisoning and car accidents have shown a rising trend nationwide, burns have been falling.
