P-move stages rally Government House in Bangkok
BANGKOK, May 6 (TNA) - A network of people adversely affected by state policies and landless farmers, so called the People’s Movement for Just Society (P-move), staged a rally near the Government House in Bangkok Monday to call on the government to quickly solve their problems.
A company of police had been deployed to ensure order at the Government House compound.
Members of the P-move said the government made slow progress in solving their problems and delivering its policy promises in its past year of administration.
Those promises included passage of a community land deeds bill, setting up a land bank for landless farmers, issuing of community land deeds and solution to the Pak Mun Dam problem.
The group also demanded greater public participation on the state policies concerning social issues, quality of lives and land and resources.
P-move members planned to officially submit their demand with Prime Minister Yingluck Shnawatra on May 7 or 8. (TNA)
