Pakistani Educationist Asks West To Change Approach Toward Iran
Islamabad, July 28, IRNA – A Pakistani educationist on Friday asked western states to change their approach towards Iran and respect Iran's right to peaceful nuclear technology.
Talking to IRNA, Dr Rashid Ahmad Khan, Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences at University of Sargodha said that talks between Iran and Group 5+1 must continue to resolve disputes.
'Dialog is the only way to solve the issues,' he said.
Washington and its western allies accuse Iran of trying to develop nuclear weapons under the cover of a civilian nuclear program, while they have never presented any compelling evidence to substantiate their allegations. Iran denies the charges and insists that its nuclear program is merely for peaceful purposes.
Tehran stresses that the country has always pursued a civilian path to provide power to the growing number of Iranian population.
Next round of talks between Iran and Group 5+1 is scheduled to be held in Istanbul. Iran and Group 5+1 held several rounds of talks in Istanbul, Baghdad and Moscow.
Rashid Ahmad Khan expressing his views said that Iran’s sovereignty must be respected and West has no right to threaten the Islamic Republic of Iran.
“Islamic Republic of Iran is an independent state and is free to take decisions,' he pointed out.
The scholar was of the opinion that Iran is following all international laws and regulations with regard to her peaceful nuclear program and no country in the world can find faults with Iran’s nuclear activities.
