Pakistani MP Emphasizes Iran’s Role To Resolve Syrian Crisis

Islamabad, July 18, IRNA – A senior Pakistani lawmaker on Tuesday said that Islamic Republic of Iran can play a positive role for restoring peace in Syria. Talking to IRNA Senator Raja Muhammad Zafar-ul-Haq of Pakistan Muslim League-N said that those countries can play key role to resolve crisis in Syria which are interested in security of the Arab state. “I think Iran can play a positive role in helping end crisis in Syria,” said the political leader. United Nations special envoy on Syria Kofi Annan has also said that Iran must be part of the solution to Syrian crisis. Raja Muhammad Zafar-ul-Haq was of the opinion that Iran is close to the government of Syria because the country has been following a balanced foreign policy. He said that without taking Iran on board you cannot find out peaceful solution to the problems of Syria. ‘I am fully aware of the importance of Iran in Middle East,’ said the legislator. The lawmaker expressing his opinion said that there is no doubt about that Iran has become a symbol of resilience against the imperialist forces. He viewed Iran has achieved the status of a respectable nation after a long struggle against Imperialism. Raja Muhammad Zafar-ul-Haq added that Iran is pursuing a peaceful nuclear program and their right to acquire peaceful nuclear technology cannot be denied. “Iran is an independent country and should be allowed to develop its peaceful nuclear program,” said the parliamentarian. The Senator was of the view that West is against the nuclear programs of all Islamic countries. “They cannot see a strong developed Islamic world,” noted the lawmaker. The PML leader said that major countries of the world like Russia and China are supporting the Iranian stance over nuclear program. “Conspiracies against Iran will not succeed,” he said confidently./end
