Palestinian president may visit Moscow in first half of May - ambassador

MOSCOW, March 1. /TASS/. Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas is planning to meet with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin in Moscow in the first half of May, Palestine’s Ambassador to Russia, Abdel Hafiz Nofal, told TASS on Wednesday. "Mahmoud Abbas (intends) to meet with Putin in the first half of May in Moscow," he said. "Negotiations on the details of the visit are still in progress." According to the ambassador, the Russian and Palestinian leaders will discuss a wide array of bilateral issues, the continuation of Israel’s settlement expansion in the occupied territories and the results of the Arab League summit to be held in Amman on March 26. The Palestinian ambassador also noted that Moscow will host another meeting of the Russian-Palestinian intergovernmental commission on trade and economic cooperation on April 5-7. Read more
