Parliamentary Ties, Key To Iran-Japan Co-op : Envoy

Tehran, Oct 14, IRNA – Japanese Ambassador to Iran Kinichi Kumano said on Saturday that boosting parliamentary ties between the two countries plays a crucial role in further consolidating mutual cooperation. According to Majlis’ News and Mass Media Bureau, he made the remarks in a meeting with the head of Iran-Japan Parliamentary Friendship Group, Nasrollah Pejmanfar. Recalling common grounds the two nations enjoy in the field of culture and historial amity, he stressed the need for both Iranians and Japanese people to explore affinities in culture and civilization of Iran and Japan. Pejmanfar, for his part, referred to longstanding friendship between the two states and stressed the need to fully utilize all the capacities for the expansion of ties, especially the parliamentary relations. Underlining Iranian Majlis’ resolve to prepare the grounds for further development of mutual cooperation in all the fields, he said that Iran-Japan ties are on growing trend./end
